Sunday morning at the firehouse

Just for kicks we took the boys to the firehouse this past Sunday and brought some cookies for the firemen. The boys climbed all over that thing and got a mini-lesson on the $500K firetruck that is housed just down the street from us.

Luke was literally drooling all over the truck! This experience prompted Finn to take his toy fire truck for show and tell this week!

Inner Peace

Calmness in our lives, we all need it especially around the holidays. I am passing this info on to you because it definitely works, and we could all use a little more calmness in our lives. By following simple advice heard on the Dr. Phil show, you too can find inner peace. Dr. Phil proclaimed, "The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started and have never finished." So, I looked around my house to see all the things I started and hadn't finished, and before leaving the house this morning, I finished off a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of Pinot Noir, a bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream, a bottle of Kahlua, a package of Oreos, the remainder of my old Prozac prescription, the rest of the cheesecake, some Doritos, Cheeto's and a box of chocolates. You have no idea how freaking good I feel. Please pass this on to those whom you think might be in need of inner peace.

Nice fall weekend.....

Our lemons are finally ready!!! The Meyer lemon (Citrus × meyeri) is a citrus fruit, native to China, thought to be a cross between a true lemon and a mandarin orange or sweet orange. That's the official Wikipedia def, thankyouverymuch! Anyway, these things are delish and go great in Kathleen's Famous Lemon Chicken, yummmmmmm. Anyone have any lemon recipe's? Please send, I've gotta use these sukkas!
We had a great weekend, our friends Amy and Bella came for dinner Saturday. Bella is 5 days older that Finn and they had a hoot!

Sunday morning I packed up the boys bikes in the car and took them down to Dick Nichols park and watched them peddle their little hearts out. After that, we picked up Dan and went to the Salt Lick for some comfort food. After that, we all came home and crashed out.

What's on YOUR to do list?

I was watching this You Tube Video about this woman doing a documentary and asked people to mail her their to-do lists...She didn't expect anyone to actually do it but the mail came pouring in! People would put everything on their to-do lists from picking up milk to finding a soul mate....it seems kind of voyeuristic to read other people's to-do lists but it really struck a chord with me. When I was working I used to write stuff on my to-do list just to cross it off. How neurotic is that??? I mentioned that to my mom one time and she said, you did???? I guess she thought it perplexing how this teenager with the messy room and forgotton homework could eventually become a manager of people and find it neccessary to mark accomplishments no matter how minute, interesting.

Sigh, I recently crossed off my list some thank you's from Luke's 2nd Birthday. We sent thank you's to Dr. Suess and Thing 1 and Thing 2 (his twin sister). And from our fabulous friends that came to our house to celebrate with us. We love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, I beg to ask...what's on YOUR to do list?

We are completely loving this Fall weather and playing in our new playscape! It was definitely worth the 4 week wait! Dan has been out of town all week, we dropped him off at the airport on Monday and will pick him up today (Friday) at 2:25. We are so excited to have him back! Last night Finn actually cried because he missed Daddy so much. He had never done that before, but he's getting to the age where these long trips really affect him.

Last night we went to Finn's Soccer Team appreciation Potluck dinner to thank the wonderful coaches he had this season. Coach Tuan and Coach Rod are terrific with the kids and a good time was had by all!

Hey guys, bear with me while I get my blogging bearings. It takes me forever to edit and post and I'm still trying to figure this thing completely out.

I swear before kids I was so much quicker technologically, ha!

More to come as I tinker...

Pea gravel grovel

OK so here's the deal. We have 12 tons of pea gravel sitting in our driveway.
I am going crazy with anticipation until it gets installed. Pray for patience!
Anyhoo, it is kind of cool to have a mini-mountain of gravel for the boys to play on (and our friends from the street). This peagravel has been like a beacon beckoning kids of all ages to frolic like nutzo maniacs! It's like they get punch drunk w/glee once they lay eyes on it. Even Brian a Jr. Higher was dusty as allgetout when it was time to go. NOTE- mounds of displaced peagravel appeal to children of ALL ages....
This day was WONDERFUL with the window's open in the house ALL DAY Long. It was getting a little nippy just now so I closed them. Nippy--I just love it.

Today I got to spend some time with my favorite people on the planet! Zaib came over with Asis and Murthasa and I got to see the boys for the first time in almost 4months! Also, Jamie called and was in town for a few hours and we got to have lunch! Along with Jamie there was another pilot who was telling fantastic stories of flying VIP's around...good stuff!

Couldn't ask for a better fall day, the only thing that would be better was if Dan was in town. Poor guy is driving to Houston right now for meetings in the a.m. He's working so hard for us and is doing a bang up job at EMC, THANK YOU HONEY!!!!!!!

Pea gravel arrives tomorrow at 9:30---workers to take it back come at 3:30! YAY, pea gravel will be completed by tomorow! Yippeeeeee!

Tons of fun will be had in our backyard---literally.

Can't wait to have playdates galore!!!!!!!!!!!
